In accordance with the Rules on the Categorization of Accommodation Facilities (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 22/2018), which enters into force on 1 October 2018, government introduce a new system of accommodation categorization in Slovenia, the key novelty of which is the introduction of Hotelstars standards for hotels and the modernization of standards for other accommodation facilities. All accommodation establishments will have to align the category of accommodation with the provisions of these Rules within a period of six months from the entry into force of the Rules, with the exception of accommodation establishments assigned to them by the evaluator of accommodation establishments - these are valid until the expiry date.
